I am writing today from our time share in Orlando after enjoying Day One of our trip to Disney World. We had a safe and delay-free flight in on Saturday and Gracie was absolutely the best kid on the plane! Yesterday was hotter than I would have liked, but we still managed to have a very good time. I hadn’t expected it to be so crowded, but I forgot it was a holiday weekend. We don’t get off for Columbus Day in New Jersey anymore
I am always inspired when I go to Disney World because it is the most amazing outward expression of one person’s dream that I am aware of. Walt Disney is a major icon for those of us following our dreams and to see his become such an amazing reality is a blessing. The theme for the past two years has been The Year of a Million Dreams and they grant random dreams throughout the day. For instance, yesterday I got two bananas for free. Hey, I was hungry and I wanted a healthy snack and a free banana was the fulfillment of that dream! Anyway, everywhere you go in Disney you are reminded that dreams come true. The song they sang in the parade was about believe in the power of magic and your dreams will come true. What a great message to deliver to our children!
I am so grateful that we are able to take this vacation and that my family is enjoying the trip. I have many wonderful days ahead of us here at Disney World and I will pop in again to share some more of my trip. In the meantime, here are some pictures from our first day in the land of a million dreams!

Without a Dream there is no where to go. How can anyone exist without one. I, too, am amazed at Walt Disney’s vision.
Mare,
I’m so glad that you are enjoying your trip - and Gracie is beautiful. We made the mistake of going to Disney World when my younger daughter was too young. Both kids begged and pled, and we gave in.
I am old enough to remember the New York World’s Fair, where they had the “It’s a Small World” ride. My little one and I went on THAT ride and ONLY that ride for 7 days. I think my mom was somewhere on my shoulder whispering “you deserve this! “- and laughing.
The memories I had of my own mom taking my on that ride every single weekend while I was little helped keep me sane during our time at Disney!
Enjoy every second…they grow up FAST!
Rita
